What's the deal with this blog

So I do a lot of research and open ended projects. I enjoy those quite a bit and I have no plans on stopping them anytime soon, but there are a lot of times I will do a deep dive on a product or type of product without really having any sort of deliverable game. So I’ve kinda been at a loss for what to do with things like that, games I want to talk about or projects that aren’t far enough along to really push out something for y’all to play with, so I guess I’ll do a blog.

The goal of the blog is a little scattershot: share cool stuff I’ve found/seen others work on, show off anything interesting I myself have been tinkering with, and to gather my thoughts on ideas or concepts that haven’t yet turned themselves into a project.

Games are inherently interdisciplinary, this gives me an excuse to go on tangents about pop culture, theme parks, pinball, politics, and hopefully some amusing stories mixed in to make it more palatable for people who don’t want to read multi-page rants about how all games are at there core strategy games or my hatred for the term rogue-like/rogue-lite.

In the coming few weeks/days I’m going to be writing about a couple projects I am either actively working on or a couple of research topics that I’ve been dying to write about for a long time. I’ll be talking about my adventures with a waterbed for mixed reality games, why cookie clicker is in my top 10 games, and the importance of research when making a game.

So buckle up for an incomprehensible mess of whatever this blog is going to be.
