SIGIRIRYA
Sigiriya is a mobile adventure game that takes place in 5th century Sri Lanka. The player controls an Architect tasked with overseeing the smooth construction of King Kashyapa’s fortress at Sigiriya rock. The gameplay of Sigiriya focuses on the interactions between the player and the characters of the world. The relationships the player builds will impact how they accomplish their goals and how the story of the Architect, the community, and Sigiriya unfold.
All of the systems in Sigiriya are built with a couple core goals in mind, namely: strengthening the content design, making the world feel more real, & giving the player meaningful choices for both the narrative and the way they play.
While working on the game, I created a couple of systems that, when joined together allowed for seamless nonlinear storytelling, more realistic character relationships, & a way to introduce content with variable scope without need for major narrative overhauls.
I served as lead systems designer for the project and worked closely with our content design lead to ensure systems and content worked well together.
